car almost stalls, tach to 0, what could it be?
i've noticed lately that my engine likes to almost stall out from time to time. especially if it's just warmed up (i.e. not been running for a while.) for example, i start the car, drive around for 2-3 minutes, the idle gets to around 700 (no more cold idle.) then i get through 1st and 2nd gear, come to a stop. the tach falls to 0, i can hear the engine struggle a bit, then it recovers. it rarely (if ever) actually stalls, but i wonder what the hell is going on. it also worries me that when i put the lighter flywheel on it'll really stall.
the vacuum shows a full 20" at these times (a bit more actually), fuel pressure steady as a rock, a/f ratio right on the edge of rich and stoich, doing it's normal slow dance back and forth.
any ideas? i think it did this as soon as i got the sc put on, but perhaps it's worse lately. this is on an sc'd prelude, 6psi, stock internals, 370cc injectors, intake, exhaust, cartech 2025, hole in stock fpr, vafc, etc etc.

Sounds like either your IACV isn't working properly, the base idle isn't set properly, or the injectors are drowning it.
