Can't rev higher than 3000rpms in neutral?
When I try to hold the rpms at 3000, in neutral, the needle bounces around like when it hits the rev limiter. It drops to about 2500 rpms, then back up to 3000, back and forth. Why is it doing this? If it matters, I have a turbo b16 with SMC+ and DSM 450's. Thanks.

Do you think it's too much, or too little fuel? And too advanced, or too retarded timing?

I just noticed it now. I installed my turbo a little while ago but have never revved it up like this before today.

It's just in neutral. Normal driving is fine. Also, no CEL's.
My settings for 6.5PSI are:
-40%
-42%
-42%
-40%
-38%
-36%
-36%
-36%
Not too sure about my timing. I turned the distributor about 8 mm towards the front of the car. Dunno how much that is because I can't find the pointer on the block to use a timing light.

Re: Can't rev higher than 3000rpms in neutral? (red_sir)
I tried again today. I can't hold the revs anywhere between 2000-3000 rpms. In that rpm range the needle will bouce around like there's a rev limitor. I just checked my timing again and it's about 4-5 degrees retarded at the distributor. I've also adjusted the fuel for the 2-3000 rpms range on my SMC+. I've tried -35%, -40%, -42%, and -45%, still no luck. Help!
