cant boost over 4 psi
i just got my car back together last week and i now i have a problem with my boost. it wont boost over 4 psi and i was wonering if anybody had an idea. i think it might be a small leak somewhere. i double checked all the vacum hoses and all the lines coming to and from the turbo and there all fine. i was just wondering if anybody had an idea on what it could be.

Re: cant boost over 4 psi (USDMx05)
its actually a tear in the connecting piece from the trubo to the charge pipe so i have to replace it. it still does it sometimes it will boost and sometimes it doesn't. but i also think that it might be my waste gate because i dont hear it open at all.

So, you are over boosting? How much? Is it just spiking or holding steady at a higher boost level?
I would be careful if I were you... overboosting can be the end of your motor

I don't see how the spring could break but I would inspect the wastegate to make sure it's working properly...
