Can you cut your wastegate spring
I installed the ssautochrome set up on a customers b20vtec,,,
everything is perfect and runs great...
however the wategate that came with the kit must have some crazy spring in it since I believe its set somewhere arround 25PSi.... I floor the car for one second and it gets to 15PSI.....
I have the wastegate unhooked on the top and the side nipple goes to vacum on the intake....
Is there any way I can cut the spring???
has anyone ealse had this problem with the ssautochrome tial style wastegate???
thanks
Tyler

I had this problem, and even with a 7psi spring chopped down (to put it around 4 psi) we still got spiking. WE had to cut the wastegate flange off, and actually dremel out the whole and pipe for the wastegate. Then put it back on and rewelded it and it was perfect. The reason we cut the spring is because there are two greens, and we thought we got the wrong spring. BUt it was actually the stupid wastegate placement/hole.
