Default Can a turbo be blown/toast without leaking oil from the seals?

Is it possible for a turbo to be blown and the seals not leak? Just wondering, i have no oil on either side of the turbo, and little to no shaftplay but sometimes the turbo just falls on its face between shifts and i was wondering if that could be a sign of it goin out?

The blades are al good too but pieces of a dropped valve did go thru the turbo possibly cutting its life short. Anyway just wondering if its even possible for a turbo to be done without it leaking oil...
