What do you have the lines running to? If your running it from the turbo try running it from the IM. I have heard of people having troubles with their Spec 2 when running it off the compressor. I had no troubles with mine at all, literally took like 15 mins to get everything set up and works perfect.

Thats funny as **** that Zac, my customer here says this. I have been working on his profec b spec2 for a couple days now. I finally got it work decently, but still fluctuates about .5 psi in low boost and a little more in high boost.
Art is right where he says "Here is a secret, get rid of it."
As for a tuner, I find that I lost time and money trying to get the pos to work for my customer.
Zac, sell that piece and we should do the $15 GM boost solonoid. You'll be much happier......me too as soon as I explain to you how to control the ****.

Thanks to B18CYA , we talked it over for a little last night and the way he explained it seems more simplified than the instructions. I will try it out again tonight on the dyno and see if i can get it working .
the lines are right, its the settings that are acting up

I was using the greddy profec b-spec, and sold it because it wasn't consistent. Good luck getting it dialed in... Are you getting boost spike or having trouble hitting a certain psi?

i got the SPec 2 as well and for the most part it'll hold boost. slight drop off but it took hrs to get it right. high boost setting holds better than the low boost one too. but i found out how to get it to hold....
no cat.
i took off my cat for some drag racing at the track (ran open header) and i guess due to the decrease in back pressure it held boost solid as a rock.
only problem for me is that from time to time it resets on its own and i have to re-program it. anyone else?

I've never had a problem with the spec II. There have been people that had problems with boost dropping at redline but here is how you're suppose to hook up the wastegate
middle nipple- inatake mani
top nipple- stepper motor
and here is how you route the bs
in nipple- boost source right after turbo (very important)
out- top nipple of wastegate
Many people don't hook up the boost controller's in nipple right. If you hook it up strait to the intake manifold, your boost will drop in the end

Seeing that you are new to H-T I think you should share with us your car and all its mods. I know I for one would like to see and hear more about it!
Good job on it

Re: (RedTT)
If you could draw a diagram it would help a lot. Because I hate my spec 2 also.

Get an HKS EVC4 less than 250 bucks on ebay, they are EASY to setup and dont require the guess work on the spec2, my friend has one and all i can say is that damn thing causes more problems than it worth a major PIA to setup and it never holds the settings. The best thing about the HKS is you DIAL up the boost you want and your are done. If you boost higer than what you set it for you turn the OFFSET up, boost lower turn the OFFSET lower, none of this % crap.
Good luck
Good luck
