Can someone help me identify this turbo??
These are the numbers that it says directly on both sides of the turbo.
It's a Garrett T3 turbo, help me identify the trim somebody.....here's what it says:
A/R .43 on intake side on the exhaust side it says as follows---687 9Z5 GARRETT 272-2 and on the other side of the exhaust is says .63 H3
Any info. would be great, thanx

This may be obvious, but Is there a tag on the center section? If by chance there is, send us the numbers and we should be able to tell you something about it.

remove the housings
measure the large [major] diameter of the compressor wheel
measure the small [minor] diameter of the compressor wheel
Do the same two steps for the exhaust.
formula for determining trim
[(minor wheel diameter)x(minor wheel diameter) / (major wheel diameter)x (major wheel diameter) ] x 100= trim
T04E 60
[(2.290)(2.290)/(2.950)(2.950)] x 100= trim
(5.2441/8.7025) x 100= trim
.6026 x 100 = trim
60= trim

i'm purchasing this turbo, so i can't exactly take it apart yet. . Thanx for that formula, though.

yeah i have no idea, but i would ditch that exhaust fighting manifold if i were you, #1 and #4 will fight and counteract #2 and #3, horrible design but it WILL work

Re: (0ptimus Prime)
It looks like a T25 to me...
That's a cute little turbo
** edit **
I just noticed that it says "T25" on the turbine housing in the last picture... look on the left...
I had a Garrett (not the DSM one) T25 that looked just like that, it had the same stepped down intake. I'd bet money it's a T25.

The flanges look the same (both are rectangular) but the T25 flange is smaller than the T3...
I used to have a T25 on my car and thought I could just switch it out with a T3... then I found out the T3 flange was larger and had to buy a new manifold...

you can clearly see its a t25 and as for the adaptor plate, ive gone through the same thing before. ive found where i could get an adaptor plate but it wasnt worth it to me because it was like 80 bucks and for that on top of cost of the turbo initially i could just buy a better t3 turbo. i had a t28 off a skyline which i bough in perfect condition for 100 dollars and ended up selling it for 260 hahaha
