It'll work sure. I don't know what kind of power your looking to make but if your looking for the best number you can acheive out of this engine, I'd say just go bigger. I origionally had the 5Zigen Fireball catback on my Integra and at 9 psi with the catback plugged up with carbon and oil sludge from a mishap (kinked oil return line), pulled 213whp and 200ft lbs out of a street tuned LS.
Since then i've gone 3" downpipe and 3"full exhaust back to a Turbo N1. You won't beleive the size difference of the N1 and the Fireball's inside diameter. Take a look at your muffler tip and look inside at how small that hole the exhaust gasses are coming from. It's like 1.25"s Pluss they put about 3 different resonators in their catback systems, so needless to say it wasn't designed to be run with an FI setup. But will work for you if your not expecting the best

yah i was actually thinkning about changing it after i got my setup up and running. i just like the sound of the 5Zigen (fairly quiet) and don't want to have a gross sounding, hell raising, attention getting noise coming from my car.....any suggestions on a decent sounding 2.5" system ???

The 5Zigen system is already 60mm or 2.375" so moving up to 2.5" wouldn't be worth the minimal power gains. If you want good power, move up to 3.0".

Bens right, I noticed a big difference after going full 3" all the way. the bigger the better is true in this case. ****, I've seen people running 4" exhausts

.Dont be scared to go big, Most likely you wont get raspy sound if your turbo. Most of the time it would be deep because the turbo is using most of the exhaust gases, My Thermal Turbo is ******* loud but im cool with it. I might run open downpipe and see how it is ahah...
Trance minister: Good to see some turbo teg on the east coast, Im in springfield about 20 minute from worcester. Maybe there more there but aint **** here

Haha, I beleive it's the G3... whatever year a 2000 falls under yeah i wish the avatar were clearer but it's the only pic that would fit... I don't really drive it much so if you saw it and it was white, that mucst have been just after I finished installing the front end. It's now primered grey with spoon mirrors, CF hood and all ready for paint. But good to see some local people on here.

so who makes the 3" catbacks??....thermal, Apexi N1, ???
because by the time i buy a good resonator (magnaflow 22"), a 3" carsounds cat, and a nice 3" inlet muffler, and the custom piping and have it welded i can buy a nice catback i figure!!!

Re: (sohctodohc)
I bought a Kteller 3" mild steel kit for my Integra and couldn't be happier. I didn't get a resonated version though because i figured if I didn't like the noise I could just install one later. But going straight back to an N1 isn't all that loud. For daily driving I'd be nervouse and would want it quieter, but a weekend/track car or whatever, it's not bad. Has a pretty unique sound to it. Almost a hollow sound, not raspy or annoying at all.
