can I run a p28 on an ls with vtec disabled via neptune/s300 without a cel?
The title pretty much says it all..I want to know if the vtec ecu will turn on the cel if the vtec connections are left unplugged if vtec is disabled in the program. I don't have the vtec head yet, and I don't want to chip 2 ecus for boost. Thanks for any input..

it will work. i would personally use the vtec feature. not to activate vtec, but when the ecu swaps over to the high cam maps the map resoultion increases... you can use this increased resolution to help you tune

How does that work?, do you just tune the whole map on high cam and not use low cam?

no, low cam for like 4k and below... the ecu will swap maps at whatever you put your "fake crossover" to

yeah, I just remembered that about the resolution.
But what about can the ecu detect that the **** isn't connected and then not even switch onto that map (activate vtec)?

Ok, I really want to know this..does the increased resolution come from the program you're using on the ecu, or the ecu itself? Are there differences in the resolution between the various programs? if so, which one should I get? Or is the resolution at higher rpm just always going to be inferior on the p75 vs the p72 or p28?
