Can I eliminate this canister?
I am installing my aeromotive fuel system and had a couple questions. Since the great state of FL doesnt care that my car is california classified as a low emission vehicle. I am removing the stock fuel lines and running the braided lines. When I welded the sump onto the gas tank, I followed all these lines and they run to this canister. Most of these are tied into the low emissions/smog complications. So, I am going to remove the canister and all its contents related to this low emission setup. Any concerns I should have. I may still install a catch can, but besides that...any?
Thanks, Jason

nope, there are no drawbacks for removing that canister. its only for smog purposes. just cap off any open ends and enjoy your new found use of free space

That canister is the same as in my car....its called an EVAP cannister. All it does is store all the gas vapors from your fuel tank. It makes your car cleaner on emissions. It wont make a difference if you have it or not, especially in a state that doesnt give a Sh@t. Have fun with the new found space....as ^^^^ said.

Yes, I know which sensor your referring to. I just capped the canister where that line used to go and removed the sensor from my intake manifold, letting the plug hang. It does not throw any codes or have any drawbacks as far as I know.

There was already a thread about this about a week ago. If you remove the EVAP canister and plug the lines you will have pressure build up in your tank. . .how much, I dunno. I wanted to do this "mod" on my 00 Si also, but I'm waiting on a definate answer.

i dont see how any of the pressure "build" could make any difference. everytime you open your gas cap to pour gas, the pressure is relieved. also when you drive your car, pressure is also relieved. just cap off the ends to avoid the condensation build up
