Was wondering, is it possible for a tuned built motor to lift a little during a hard run? I punched the car on the freeway and a little white smoke came into the cabin. (E-cutout under clutch handle) Yet, this is the 1st time since street tuning that this has happend though....nothing biggie, nothing wrong with the car or motor, still runs like a champ but just wanted to be reassured that the head isn't lifting or maybe trying to lift. Today, i noticed a little oil seep on the front passenger side corner where the block sandwiches the head and the head gasket number shows. cam plugs and seals are all dry.
I'm thinking of throwing some new ARP head studs on w/ a new oem head gasket. Perhaps i should shave my dowel pins too??? both head and block are resurfaced and block is machined all with less than 600 miles on it.
Still runs like a champ but I want to be safe, real SAFE!

any suggestions would be appreciated.

did you use studs or bolts?? if you used bolts then yes it is possible to lift. with studs its less possible but it doesn't mean it won't happen. its just less likely to

used OEM head bolts.
Nothing wrong with coolant or oil, everything is clean, no bogging or things of a problematic nature.

I'm gonna get some arp's asap and swap'm out with another oem hg.
