Can a crank really warp if you lay it on its side?
Ive had my crank in my basement laying on its side for about a month when i was told that it could warp like this. Is this true? Could it be bad after a month? Im getting scared now i dont feel like choking up any more money...

If only a month, you are probably ok. If you go into any auto machine shop, you will notice all long term storage of cranks is done with the cranks standing on end. I would not worry about your crank. It is fine

Ashland Grinding and Balancing balanced my engine's rotating assembly. They must've had 200 cranks on end in their shop! They are in Hayward, CA and they said that after the big earthquake up here in '89, their shop was a real mess. Every crank fell over.
