That is a pretty major problem, most likely it snapped the timing belt, the motor fell out of time and piston valve contact occured. The motor is most likely toast.

no the timming belt is still intact, he said it was due to installing the cam seals wrong and tighting the bolts to tight it popped the seals out and it was metal rubbing agaist metal.

i doubt you just need new cams.....you prolly have head damage. if the motor actually ran with this cam not spinning you prolly have piston valve contact too.

You realize it is pretty much impossible for the timing belt to be intact with only one cam spinning. And if you already have all the answers then why did you make this post.

So the guy selling the car says its OK.I can't think of any reason he would mislead you......

Anyway the head and valves are more than likely tashed.

So he is telling you that he was idling the car and a cam stopped so he shut it down before anything could happen. Even at idle the cam is still rotating 6 times per second. There is no way it would make it out timing belt intact. Sounds lke he is lying to you to get the motor off his hands.

Don't buy it, not worth the trouble, and you'll probablly need a new head at the very least.
