Are cam gears worth the money??
Did a search and didnt find any dyno results. I am sure it depends on the car and tuner but is it worth it? I know the AEM were 3 bolt, are they 5 now? THe HKS are dope but way overpriced, SKunk 2 seems good as well. Looking for feedback and #'s!! THis is on a built turbo motor.

defenitly worth all cent on a turbo Honda engine. You want to disable the valve overlap to make more torque and power.

Re: Are cam gears worth the money?? (austrian type-R)
to make a story short ..!! HELL YEAH..!! you do what you have to get the most HP you can...like open exhaust , take out the filter, run to the local 101pump race gas, octane booster, bigger this better that..!! now you gonna spend about $150 for a set of decent cam gears, and $150 for some good tuning.. if you can get 10 hp to the wheels from a allmotor or 15-20 to the wheels for a turbo for tweaking out the cam timming, for $300 you have well spent the money..!! besides for free whos gonna give you $20-40 per HP...???

Well, actually cam gears were a waste in my (old) set up, w/ the drag 3 kit, on my b18b w/ a skunk2 intake manifold, I made the most power at 0,0 on the cam gear settings. and i believe this is the same case for most b18b's w/ FI.......otherwise, im sure they will be useful w/ vtec motors, just not b18b's

such things are always hard to say...it epends on boost, exhaust, and other components......but since you have GSR cams I would stick with em and just bolt on skunk2 cam gears. I run Skunk2 gears for more than 2 years now without ANY problems

Re: Are cam gears worth the money?? (tygsr)
in my old setup I had a drag 3 kit on a 9.0:1 gsr /w stock head and cams... at 16 psi I gained 5 hp tuning my camgears... in my opinion it is only worth it when you need to squeeze every hp out of a motor...
I figure I spent ~$300 on the gears, installed them myself, I spent about $200 on dyno tuning (I ran about 10-13 pulls for the gears alone, reseting the ignition after every turn that changed it)...
so I netted 5 hp for ~$500... not worth it in my book...
maybee on an ITR where there is more overlap it might be worth it?

Re: Are cam gears worth the money?? (tygsr)
I think I will spend my money on dyno tuning first, then if I want to get a few extra horses I will get some cam gears and hit the dyno again. My tuner just got a dyno at the shop! Pretty stoked to take a run at it...

sure they are if you have vtec or have shaved the head down. they are cheap to begin with. i'd imagine you'd have bigger issues than this.
