Cam choice for Turbo!
Having a difference of opinion with a friend. Which can would be best for a 20+ psi turbo LS/VTEC with a built GSR head.
B16
GSR
Skunk2 Stage 2
Toda 4
Mild All motor cam, but a little more agressive than GSR (Web Cam)
Looking for your opinion...

depends on the turbo manifold u use. if you use a log the do something with high lift and short duration. if you have an equal length then do an all motor cam with good overlap and high lift

Re: (QuarterMileMaster)
if you have stock b16's anything gsr type r is great, used gsr's are awesome. (got mine for 50bucks and was a great buy. i am running 28 psi and spinning 9400 now, will be 10.5 at MIR in 2 weeks.) new ct/it r are great, and there is another alternative.
call mazworx and talk to james innes about the mazworx v1 race cams. just another alternative. i just got my set, no time to put em in yet, but they ill be goi on my new gsr for next season. unless i can line up some dyno time at my shop....too damn busy.

Re: (boostedcivicsir)
What about gsr intake cam, and itr exhaust cam. This is what I have installed right now from a supercharger setup. I'm ready to tune my new turbo setup, and I'm wondering if I should put the itr intake cam back in. Any ideas????????

Re: (quicksilver1689)
Is that from experience? I used to run that with my all motor setup, but I was under the impression that a larger exhaust cam was better for a turbo setup.

if your on a budget use gsr but if you have some money laying around just get o1 spec type r or ctr cams and as for a head b16 flows the best . some times you can find good deals on internals if you get all of them and if that option comes up just get all the type r valve train , but thats if you dont have money for an aftermaket one

In theory yes, but in reality all motor cams work very well on vtec heads. The ctr and itr cams work VERY well. no need to stagger but if you do put th elarger cam on intake.
GSR cams work very well and are alot cheaper then itr/ctr and are MUCH better then b16 cams for obvious reasons. I just switched over to an all motor cam in my nonvtec similar to a ctr spec. they work well
