California BOOSTED cars!
We all know how strict California laws are when it comes to modifying cars...
So how do you guys maintain your boosted cars in Cali? If you get pulled over and the Cop see's the big FMIC and tells you to pop the hood... what do you do to get out of it?
How about Smog checks every 2 years? What do you do to pass it?

Haven't had to pop my hood *knock on wood*
For smog, just return it all back to stock. It's a pain, yea, but it's only once every 2 years. So you loose a weekend every 2 years for it.

Or you COULD pay $300.00 to pass Smog under the table every two years if you're lazy to put everything back to stock.
But the thing that spooks me is when the Cop pops your hood and gives you a FAT Fix-It ticket to put everything back to stock. That would ****** suck.
How do you guys keep it low key? What if I got a GReddy CARB sticker... you think that'll fool the cops? (Even though it's nothin close to a GReddy Turbo Kit.)

I can't pay off the smog people, my car is too old and gets sent to "test only" stations...but it passes no prob.
As far as I understand, they'll send you to the ref for all of the crap. Put it all back to stock, then slap it back on after you pass

paint the FMIC flat black and take off any rice stickers/advertising proclaiming to the world that you have a king-kong sized snail under your hood.

I'd be a little worried that if you got caught with a fake sticker for a carb legal kit that you'd be in some deep ****. But thats just me.....

Ehh, what are the chances of a cop knowing the difference, chances are he wont even know the car is turbo, only that it doesnt appear stock.

Re: (Billy Blaze)
1. make ur car low key (blowing off, and fat intercoolers will give it away to cops, thefts, and opponents)
2. learn how to keep ur eye open for cops(thats kept me from getting in trouble in general. learn how to drive ur car low in the rpms, and creep around them)
3. I dont know bout u, but i know the smog hook up and many do. u just got to network.
Its really all bout learning the Cali way. Use ur head and u will be fine. But always be ready to put your car back to stock.
Wouldnt trade Cali for nothing. I love cars, but life isnt all about a modified honda ok maybe sometimes it is

I lived in Cali for years. I just made sure that I had family in a NON-Carb legal state and made sure that my license, registration and plates were from the non-carb state. I've gotten pulled over for onsite smog check, sobriety, the whole she-bang, and as soon as they saw my license plate, they left me alone. no letters in the mail for smog check, no ref, no nothin'.
