BUYERS BEWARE: do not buy from racesearch.com

Just want to give you guys a warining so you won't get screwed like I did.

I ordered a vent kit for my fuel cell frlom them a few months ago (they were the only place that had it in stock). They charged my credit card the next day, but a month later I still didn't recieve the package.

I tried calling them 4 times a day for a week, but I only got a voice recording, which lead me to other recordings!

I wrote them a long email explaining the situation...still, no answer.

So I filed a report with the BBB. They sent me a letter in the mail stating that they were going to contact the company and try to resolve the issue. Another month later...I got another letter in the mail from the BBB stating that they were closing the claim because they couldnt get a response from the company either, so it will just count against them in their record.

So I got screwed. Stay away from www.racesearch.com http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emthdown.gif

Wow, I almost ordered from them last year. Fret not, however. Simply contact your credit card company and file a chargeback. Tell them what happened. They will send you some paperwork to fill out, mail it back, and they will give you your money back. The credit card companies always side with the customer. Unless you signed something stating you received the item, it's almost impossible for them to successfully dispute your claim, even if you got the stuff.

Believe me, I know. I learned this lesson the hard way with my first online business. People used to screw me like this all the time.

I ordered lots of stuff from them last year with no problems. Does their site even work anymore?

Just call your CC company and they will take care of you.

I thought they went under quite some time ago.

They also dicked quite a few magazines. Ran full page ads and then filed for bankruptcy.

Thanks for your help guys.

mplex2000: i used my VISA checkcard to make the order. i'm not sure if the same rules apply to a checkcard. i'll look into it. http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emthup.gif

I just checked their site and it isn't even working anymore! That's fu%ed up. No wonder they charged my credit card the very next day after I placed the order. They knew what the hell they were doing http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/mad.gif. Bastards!

I hate places like that. Taking your $$ was not a biz problem, it was theft and should be criminal. They had no intention of shipping product to you. BBB does no good at all. It's a joke. Hope your bank can help you.

if you haven't already, talk to you credit card company about it. They can file fraud charges against the company and get you your money back. http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emsmile.gif

Re: BUYERS BEWARE: do not buy from racesearch.com (bQQsted hybrid)

I ordered a WW RS frong lip from them ealier this year.....they charged my card and didn't send it out for over 2 months. I emailed them like month before and they said that WW was on backorder and it'd be another 2weeks....2weeks goes by and it's still not shipped. Finally after a couple of calls and being on hold 1 time for 30min....falling asleep....waking up and still being on hold, they sent it. I guess I was just one of the lucky ones.

Amen call CC company and chargeback on the shitheads, thats what I did to this shop that strung me out for 25 days after charging my car the next day... after 25 days of nothing and not being able to get in contact with their guy "tim" I called the cc company and was done with it. Don't know if they have a website but the shop is somewhere in CA and its called Upgrade Engineering.

Heard too many stories from friends in business about chargebacks. That's why we ship COD.

Yep, really easy to scam.

And yes, checkcard is the same way. It's VISA and MC that will go to bat for you and give you the benefit of the doubt, so as long as it has their logo, it doesn't matter what kind of card it is.

Thanks for the info, I will add it to my list. It sucks that the internet makes it so easy to scam, that's why I always think twice about online transactions etc. So far I've had no problems with anything.
