burning oil, is the turbo to blame?

ok before i tear my engine apart (took it out yesterday) i just want to make sure its an internal issue.

my compressor housing has a bit of oil in it, just a light coat

my charge piping is bone dry

my motor collects oil on the top of the 4th piston and i wanted to be sure that oil from the turbo wasnt collecting in that cylinder being the first cyl as the air passes by the throttle body

It would be coming out the blow off valve, pooling in the intercooler, and the piping would not be bone dry if the turbo was going bad.

looks like just a lot of boost pressure blow by. what boost pressure are you, and what is your return line setup look like?

running 12-15 psi as determined by my boost by gear setup., return line is a straight shot 45 degree down to the pan, but is only a -8 size. i will be changing this to -10.

anyhow i think thats not the issue as i just tore most of the engine down today. im going to make a new thread and let this one die but my major finding is that my rings rotated position in the bore, positioning the gaps on thrust surfaces and probably closer than 90 degrees to each other. i also found my exhaust valveseals in the 3rd cyl were starting to leak so ill replace those as well. i think jesus hates me lol. what a mess ugh...

Not related but that is how I felt last night after noticing I was missing a manifold nut. I added a new copper nut and the stud broke in half flush with the manifold so I spend the next hour and a half with a chisel and hammer tapping the damn thing enough to back it out so I could get some slip joints on it...
