Built motor and now Front and oil pump seals are leaking
So I started up the built motor for the first time and within 1-2 minutes I get a nice steady leak from both the front main seal and the one by the oil pump. I couldn't have installed both of them wrong could I? anything special too them?
The new oil pump came with one and the front one is brand new. Strange thing is it seems to leak from the top of the oil pump as well. Could there be too much crankcase pressure? Maybe I installed the PCV system incorrectly?
I don't know if this helps but I have a code 14 and 15 which is IAC (EACV) - idle air control valve and Ignition output signal. Both seem mino, but let me know if I should check anything.
Could the crank walk that bad to ruin the seals?

are the seals folded at all. I recently was putting together my motor and the oil pump seal folded a little bit, but i caught it and fixed it. Also you need to make sure the round spring is behind the seal if you know what I'm talking about.

I know what you mean by the seal folded and the spring, but it's also leaking from the top of the oil pump....it's weird.

I don't want to start her up and then keep shuting her down since it's bad on a fresh motor. I wanna let it idle for 20minutes

Ya, if its leaking somewhere other than the seal area you should throw some permatex grey on that bitch.

I did for the oil pump, but not the main seal ?
Any comments on crank walking or is that just not happening. Thanks for the comments though

Can you just apply it without removing the oil pump? Like just on top?

Re: (B18C Turbo)
i would redo it...take you couple hours to do...be sure that spring stays inside the gasket ring and when u put it on, make sure its fully seated in there....Be sure you oring as well is lined up and seated in that grove...use hondabond like theres no tomarrow! haha
Oh yeh...buy new seals...dont try reusing those...

Re: (iBrandon)
I pulled the T-belt and looked closer at the oil pump when I noticed a lot of oil residue around one of the 14mm allen wrench oil ports (don't know how to say it better and don't feel like looking it up.) I had forgotten to tighten these down when I got it back form the machine shop.
Again, thanks for the help H-T and hopefully this thread can help some others later on
