Building a street motor for 300whp
Ive got a JDM B18c motor at the moment.
I am aiming to build a motor to run around 300whp. The question is do i use my B18c or do I get another block and get that built to take the extra strain of boosting?
Also what sort of spec should i go for?
Thanks Tony

I know I'm not really answering your question on what to do to build your motor but, with a nice turbo kit and that stock b18c 300whp is not a problem.
There are plenty of people on this board that have achieved that goal and driving their cars on the stock blocks for quite some time now.

If you have the funds now and you are planning on running high boost in the future than I'd say build it now and get it over and done with, else you'll be OK on stock. I've been running on stock for over a year now and its going in for a full rebuild soon.

At the moment i am running on DTA fully mappable ecu, this should be fine for setup.
one other thing, at the moment i am using ITBs. What sort of inlet manifolds would suit a boosted engine?

I have not seen any Honda make a closed chamber on the ITB's for boost. That would be a good idea, have someone make an enclosed chamber that connects the ITB's and use it for boost.
The Nissan Sunny uses it and that **** runs.
Also I would stay stock to save money for now and build motor later. After all 300 for the B18c is no problem, but tunning is the key.

all the cars that run ITB's with boost are MAF cars.
