Default Building a reliable B18B1 for boost. Just to add a little power.

I have a 95 LS that smokes a lot thanks to a blown headgasket and runs bad because of spark plug wires too. I prefer to rebuild it.

I want to build the head.

I need a list if you know one because I went through many pages and nothing.

My budget for the head alone would be about $400

I want to find out the best headwork for that price range.

I want to rebuild the block for boost also. Price range would be about $500 for the block.

I need a few setups for around that budget, including turbo and parts.

Something reliable but still a little extra power.

I would like to have about 250-300 hp if possible.

I actually got a raise so budget is higher. Would possibly $1k cover rebuilding for boost?

Yes, the standard Garrett t3/t04e is a good bang for the buck turbo for that goal, among more great options out there. The 50, 57, or 60 trim will get you there with ease, but the 50 will have the best spool characteristics out of the three, if reaching maximum pressure early is a concern for you. I run a 57 trim on mine, but its an SC-3431 (Precision brand).
