Default Building my Turbo Kit....piece by piece.

So I FINALLY finshed the exterior of my car and am ready for boost. I wish I would have boosted first but I didn't. I will be ordering pars week by week and updating my progress on here. I hope to have it finshed and tuned on 7psi on a stock GSR Motor. I will have the motor fully built during the summer of 06 and boost will be raised to 14.4psi. I wish there was a way to make a manifold like we did on my friends talon using a header flange, 2 metal ts and 2 metal elbows but there isnt.

Intercooler - http://www.johnnyracecar.com 6" Centered Inlet Intercooler with 2.5" OD inlets both sides - $215

Wastegate - http://www.nolimitmotorsport.com/prod/38mmS Cheaper Tial 38mm Wastegate -$215

Map Sensor - For now keep the stock, it can read up to 11lbs.

Turbo: .63 A/R Garrett T3 ($429 - $459) with Oil lines($45.00) ( I was going to go with the Preicision GT30R but heard they weren't worth the money )

Manifold : UNDECIDED!...I need to retain A/C and P/S

BOV: 1G DSM BOV Roughly $45, may go with a blitz Dual Drive off ebay for $100

Injectors: Good condition DSM 450cc ($45-80)

Engine Mnagement: Hondata (Undecided on which series)

If you have something for sale or know where I can find some parts at the LOWEST prices obtainable, let me know.

dude if you are looking to make a manifold, go to any of the manifold makers and ask for a flange. they will probably charge you for one but if you want to make manifold for yourself, i think they can help you out.

yes inline pro mani is the best, it isn't the prettiest of manifolds but it is the most efficient, the downpipe works well too we just put this setup on my friends gsr, i could not be more impressed

its free if you can socket/chip his ECU himself, and tune as well.

to the thread originator. if you cannot chip/socket/tune yourself. then the cost of uberdata is around this:

socketed p28 ECU=125$
uberdata/crome tuning= *around* 350

but as you can see it is still MUCH cheaper than buying a hondata. new Crome is the ****, thats what my car is tuned with. ask phil ( project dc2 ) he can tell you...and as far as turbo stuff PM phil, great products
PHil PM me, i still need to pay you.

if you need a downpipe lemem know cuz i can make 3" ac compatible downpes or whatever size you need as well as intercooler piping kits.

also to fit the inline pro. you need a turbo with a 5 bolt turbine housing outlet not hte 4 bolt turbine housing outlet. they share a t3 flange but have TOTALLY diffrent placement. youll have tno notch the block to fit both turbos. but the 4 bolt will require extreme notching... such as to the point where you're milimeters from puttin a hole in the water jacket of the block if you're not careful.

So I need to get a 5 bolt T3?

I want a 60 trim , .63 A/R.

The one I found was a reman. for $459 but I can't remember what bolt it was.

The reason I'm doing the 2.5" Inline Pro DP is because I'm only gave $115 for it.

inline pro makes some good products. im using a revhard mani with an inline pro downpipe.

any reason you are set on a T3? kinda small for a gsr motor i think. you will want to run more than 7psi to get any good power numbers out of it.

yes the t3/t4 will fit. the t3 refers to the turbine side (which attachs to the mani)and the t4 refers to the compressor. so any t3 turbine will fit the mani.

i personally have a precison sc34 (t3/t4 with a 57 trim compressor wheel and .63 ar turbine) it also has the 5-bolt flange that phil was talking about and it only needed minimal notching to the block. a little more pricey but well worth it IMO

the t3/t4 will still give plenty of spool time and can easily put you into the 250-300whp range on a stock gsr motor.

Ok, but I thought I need a 60 trim so I wouldn't run out of "breath" in the upper RPMs.

The last piece I will order will be the turbocharger itself from Turbo Calculator. Which Will be a T3/T4 60 Trim , .63 A/R for $579. I may order the intercooler next so I can go ahead and get the mounting spot picked and drilled and just put caps over the tanks on the ends.

well a 60 trim on a t3 compressor is smaller than the t4 compressor trims. i doubt you will max out any of the t3/t4 with your setup and goals and a t3 could still work for you it will just limit you to how much power you can make. even the biggest t3 start to max out at around 300-325 hp while they have t3/t4 that will go up to around 600hp. i just think a t3/t4 will allow more room for growth.

check out

http://www.precisionturbo.net/turbochargers.php

that is all the precision turbos and trims. they have t3/t4 and gt series turbos only.

http://www.turboneticsinc.com/turbo_overview.htm

there is turbonetics site it has both t3 and t3/t4 turbos. maybe that will help you with sizing. they have dimensions and all the different trims as well. they also use the 5 bolt housing.

Stay away from Turbo Calculator, he sells rebuilt turbos. If you do a search on here you will see what I'm talking about.
