Building 22+psi B18B, need help on shoping list
I'm building the ultimate sleeper, I just sold my SHO to buy a Revhard turbo kit and a few little extras for my semi built engine in my teg. But I had some money left over and I saw a black 88' CRX HF shell in the paper for $700, and I couldn't turn it down, so I went down there and it was in perfect condition with auto-x suspension/breaks set up. So Of course I bought it with evil thoughts in mind.
I'm keeping it all stock except for JDM amber blinkers, JDM front lip, 16x7 spoon rims, and one hell of a built turbo engine. I'm making a shopping list of what I should buy for my old B18B longblock sitting in my garage, let me know what you think.
Here's what I've got so far...
BLOCK
-8.5:1 JE pistons w/ rings
-Crower rods
-Balanced & Knifed Edged crank
-Darton closed block sleeves
HEAD
-Port & Polish stage 3
-JG Intake Man.
-JG TB
-Web turbo spec cams
-Crower titanium retainers
-AEM adj cam gears
-SI brand ss valves
-Hi-rev dual valve springs
FUEL
-AEM EMS
-AEM Fuel rail
-AEM Performance Fuel Filter
-AEM FPR
-RC 720cc injectors
-Aeromotive external fuel pump
I plan on using a T4 turbo, let me know if you think this will pull off low 10's in the 1700lb car and be able to run 22+psi saftly.

sounds to me like you have it figured out. They only thing I would change is using 720's instead of 550's and use an aeromotive 1:1 FPR...good luck sounds like a monster..oh yeah what tranny? LSD?

I would personally go for a higher compression piston, but I guess it depends on what turbo you are gonna run at 22+ psi.
No need for knife edging the crank. Go with a larger injectors, bigger than 720's--i wouldnt rely on an intank pump either, go with an external.
Fawk those crower turbo 301's. Look into the Web cams turbo spec cams that boosted3g designed and speadphreak here runs----they are a hella dope grind!
Good luck waiting for the JG manifold for the LS.
Need a sick clutch, driveshaft shop stage3 axles, and an LSD, and dont run the LS trans.
Thats what I think. Nice setup and plan----good luck!!

that holly 255lph isn't going to do it. Your going to need a big external fuel pump, such as an aeromotive or weldon etc. Aeromotive being the cheapest. Also your going to need bigger injectors! 720-1000cc

Thanx for the imput and I updated my "shopping list".
I was planning on getting a Stage 4 CM clutch kit, Stage 4 axels, Alum. Flywheel, and LSD, but what tranny should i use?
I have my old 94 LS tranny with a 3rd gear that needs re-biuld and i might rebuild the tranny with stronger gears, my brother in law owns a tranny shop in WV so labor is free and parts are dirt cheap. Why should I use a different tranny?

Wider gear ratio = Slower time in 1/4 mile.
You will stay in boost longer But you will accelerate slower
LS trans is good if your into highspeed highway racing. But IMO the top speed racers such as the supra, rx7, zo6 will still kick a hondas *** at high speeds.
PM me about the tranny rebuild. I have a couple questions for you.
