Build B16 with ~20psi and 9:1 CR is that possible?
Hallo,
do you think an build (pistons and rods) B16A1 Engine with 9:1 CR can handle the power that aprox. 20psi would produce?
or do i have to run 8,5:1 CR to run that boost levels.

the turbo i have is a T03/04
i don't know exactly because 9:1 is fairly high compression... and i'am not sure if i get knocking at so high boost levels because i can't retard ign enough.
what do you think? how big is my tuning limit at 20psi and 9:1 CR?

Here are guys running 29psi on 9: CR with bigger turbos.
It is all about good tuning.

Compressor CFM, compressor efficiency and intercooler efficiency are the largest limiting factors to how much psi you can run. Boost is relative, cfm is what determines power.

How about octane? And remember there are well over a thousand different T3/T4's you can build, so give us something more specific than T3/T4.

Hallo,
sorry but i have no more details about the turbo ;-) but i think it is a mid sized compressor wheel.
octane?! where i live there it is possible to buy 100 (european octane measurement) normal is 98 (also european measurement) so i think that would be not a big problem.
only disadvantage is that 1 liter 100 octane costs about 1,30 USD
Thanks for your infos.

If you guys get 98 octane, 20 psi on 9:1 isn't going to be a problem, IMO. There are people running more than 20 pounds on 9:1 compression with our 93 or even 92 octane.
