Default Broken sleeve # 3 B18 ls/vtec turbo

Need some help here.
I have a crx b18 ls/vtec turbo running max 20 psi. Here's what's in it.
Wiseco 81mm flat top pistons. Eagle H-beam rods. Acl bearings. Arp head studs.
Oem HG. Stock sleeves. 720cc injectors. Microtech MT4 fuel only. Aeromotive tsunami fuel pump.
This is the 3rd block that blows the same sleeve # 3.
The tune is good. I have the timing locked at 22 degrees.
The last block I was running 15 psi and broke the sleeve #3 again.
I don't know what's the problem. Maybe the timimg is too low?
Some help please!!

Cracking sleeves on 3 blocks would lead me to believe otherwise. How much power are you making? What are you using for tuning? Stock sleeves with a solid tune should be good for like 4-450 (depending on the tuner).

On 20 psi I made 420 whp and I'm using microtec engine management systen, but it's fuel only. I have my distributor locked at 20 degrees.

Stock sleeves are good for more than 450whp

What can be a possible reason for breaking a sleeve?
Maybe injector #3 is stock at high rpm or the timing is too low?
Any suggestions?

If you're running an EMS that doesn't deal with timing AND run 20* at idle... I'm not at all surprised its blowing up, regardless of what cylinder it is.

This would mean you are running roughly anywhere 27-31* degrees of timing at 1psi as well as at 20psi - you NEEED to reducing timing to prevent deonation, and it should also help with power. TO make matters worse, you have flaptops, which is the 542's, and I just did the calculation yesterday for 81.5's putting them at 9.7:1 - you aren't just tap-dancing on thin ice, you're hardcore break-dancing!

If the tune was not to blame, it is either your injector on #3 (swap with #1), or the fact that #3 is ALWAYS the hottest cylinder on a b-series. Add too much heat & timing, and you will increase parts temps as well as EGT's, which will lead to detonation, which will raise parts temps high enough to lead to preignition.

I guess preignition was what cracked the sleeves, but the lack of timing retard and higher compression ratio is the actual reason it happened.

BTW I would seriously consider unloading that EMS. Their website lists retail at $795, and thats usually MORE than what you'll usually pay for a tune+hardware with Neptune/Hondata/eCtune. All three will control timing too, and I know the last 2 give you electronic boost control...

your only tunning fuel and you paid nearly $800 to do that? you could have just used an apexi vafc... you must tune both fuel and ignition, its 2008 people!
