Broken skunk 2 cam gear, has this happened to anyone else??
Just curious if i got a bad batch or exactly wtf else could have happend that was maybe my fault. Basically, the cam gear broke at all five spokes and i most likely bent some valves. The best part about this is the motor wasn't under any severe load because i have be breaking it in with my bypass valve zip-tied open and never went past 6k for the 800 miles i put on the car (JRSC car). It happened at a light, where the car was fine and then all of a sudden i heard a noise and the idle started surging and i had to gas it to keep it alive. I am so pissed, i just rebuilt the motor and broke in the first 100 miles on a dyno, compression and leakdown were solid, didnt burn a drop of oil, i took the time to torque ever single engine bolt to spec and something out of my control happens. Anyway i just wanted to get some feedback if this happened to anyone else.

this will be my first time trying skunk2 cam gears. Sorry for your mishap, that just ruins a whole day there. Did you get them new or used?

they were brand new, yeah this **** is going to ruin my whole week. I'm out more time and money, **** like this makes me wanna just give it up already. Plus to top it off the day before my friends dad died, and my dog has to be put to sleep. Bad freaking weekend. I will probably just get the car back together and sell it. Its was gonna be such a sweet jrsc setup. 00 civic si b16 head skunk 2 valvetrain, arias pistons 10.4:1, eagle rods, gsr block with rs machine sleeves bored to 84.5mm, lht intercooler, quaife lsd, skunk 2 cam gears, hondata, kami header, ported s-tube, individual runners tapped for water injection. was shooting for the record jrsc setup, but now just want reliability.
My previous setup before the rebuild was no lht intercooler just water injection, 9.5:1 pistons, 9 psi, 84mm bore, and the car made 244whp with a stock civic si muffler and 2.25" piping leading to it.

I broke some skunk 2 cam gears over a year ago I broke off all the screws and then I rigged it with some normal phillip head screws, that sucks.

He won't get rid of it or quite he knows I will smack him around if he does besides. Me, U, and Louis have to run the SRT's and show them how it's done. Plus u have to scrap Laura too. John I will give u a call later
