broken cam holder bolt turbo b16
car is a 2000 si with a 60 trim/ramhorn/10lbs/hondata s200
while putting gsr cams in 2 bolts broke in the cam holders, the threads were all gunked up with something
one was a 10mm all the way to the right on the intake cam and the other was a 12mm on the exhaust on the right next to the other 10mm's
tried drilling them and using an extractor, square spiral and left hand drill bits, none worked
now one has a broken easy out in it, no idea what to do, wtf will drill through that
an the other im about to just heli coil
any other ideas?
and can this be ran without replacing them since its only 2 bolts out of what 16? just so i could move the car somewhere easier to work on + more tools

Been where you are man honestly. Broke the bolt for the tensioner pulley that goes into the block. Had to smash the extractor with a punch because they are hardened steel and nothing can drill thru it. You will have to do that and buy a new bolt for the helicoil...it's a pain in the *** trust me...took a month to do a timing belt because we couldnt figure out how to get the extractor that broke off out.

just gonna have the machine shop take care of the broken bolts

You might have to take the entire head apart all the way down to the valve springs. When i busted the tensioner pulley bolt in the block, the machine shop I took it too said I had to disassemble the whole block so it was bare so the machine could cut the bolt out.
