Fully built motor, all ghetto rigging aside, although im all about DIY.
I have tried drilling and ez-outting th ebolt out, but it actully cracked off someof the "threads" on the ez-out.
I am kinda scared to drill throught the bolt being its very close to a water jacket.

let me kno what u think, I have consider'd pulling the pistons (2 be safe) and blow torching the aluminum around the bolt to loosen up the bolt before i ez-out it.
Hoping the softer aluminum will expand faster than the steel making it easier to pull?

I would not reccomend torching the block..... I am sure you will mess something up... drill it some more and tap it with a reverse thread and get it out that way.. It will take some time but will get it out better than tourching it, or you could take it to a machine shop and have them get it out if the motor is still out of the car... cant really tell from the pic

the motor is out, but would be kinda a hassle to move around.
If possible id like to avoid moving it and just take care of it myself, thanks for your opinion. I was also kinda worried about heating up the block.

Well the info that I got from my machinist friend when I snapped an ez-out in a wastegate housing - let him use the VERY expensive electro-somthing machine his work had. IIRC it slowly shatters hardened bolts that are in regular metals - or sublimes the metal or something. If you try to drill that ez-out, you'll probably destroy the hole because the drill bit will either walk off the hard metal, or break apart.

IMO there's no good ghetto/DIY way to take a soft metal and remove a broken bolt that has inside of it a broken tip of a hardened ez-out. Take it to a machine shop, and they'll probably take a few bucks and a few minutes doing it the proper way. I'd rather chance $20 than the cost of a block.

I would try this first.

Take a center punch make sure u put it in the center and make sure hit it once then drill it for the right size easy outs. When u take it out take a propane torch and heat up the out side metal a bit. If this does not work.

Take a drill bit and put it in the center of the hole mig weld two spots on it and the bolt then wise grip it or weld a nut on the out side and turn it out.

Or u can drill it out untill ur in the center of the treads and use a pick and pull the threads out .

as long as the bolts arent tight to the botton, and the heads just snapped off, they should, and i do use that word loosely, should walk right out.

I had a friend that had happened to and he got a guy to weld a stud in its place. Held pretty well

Its called an EDM (electrical discharge machining), and it uses electric current to burn out the bolt. Its a very clean way to get bolts out, but you'd probably have to rip the block apart and whatnot to have the bolt burned out, you need to sink the part in oil when you do it.
I agree though, have someone who knows what they're doing get it out with the right tools.

i'd drill and tap that sucker, then thread a bolt into it and unscrew it that way

id just go to a damn machine shop with it like i always do and spend 25$ or so for them to do it and you save money.

ill pull the thing apart further.

i had that happen and ended up selling the motor lol so i dont know how i would have gotten that out. but i made it not my problem with... tried to get it out only made it worse and it was a big mess

just take it to the machine shop and get it over with.... you are risking way more damage doing it yourself... been there, done that...
