Default Break In Times for a new turbo kit?

I am going to be getting my turbo kit soon, Drag 3, and I was wondering what is the break in time if any? Should I wait to go into boost? Should I boost a little bit and then let off just to get it worked out a little bit? And yes I did a search, I even went back into the archives 20 pages.

when i installed my freinds turbo kit we usually drove around for like 10 miles befors giving it hell to makes sure the oil was serculationg well and the car pretty much drove the same out of boost. The just put your foot to the floot so you can relize how supid you were for now buying a turbo earlier. LOL Hope this helps.

some people say it requires a break in, some poeple dont. As far as my concern, DRAG (yes drag), told me "there is NO break in period for our turbo kits." When i installed mine though i only had it set to about 4psi then after about 100 or so miles i cranked it up to 8psi.

I would give it a few miles (50-100) miles before boosting it hard. You can argue that the gaskets still need time to set and seal, bolts need to settle in, and most importantly...check for any LEAKS! I would give it one gas tank worth of driving just to be SAFE.

Don't do what I did with my brother's Eclipse. We put on a new turbo, drive it hard right afterwards. I forgot to tighten the oilpan drain bolt and all the oil dumped out when I was boosting only 10psi. Can you say "DOH!!"
