BRAND NEW fresh engine....sleeved and turboed. Having problems!!!
A question for all you motorheads out there. I've searched all ends of the HT website which has yielded little information.
My car has a fresh built engine. I have done a proper break in and have changed the oil three times in the first and only 60 miles I have so far on it. Compression tests are exactly 210 across the board and a leakdown test resulted in 4%-5% across the board respectively. The plugs are black (like carbon build up) not oily.
The #2 and #3 pistons look like they are wet with little black specs of **** on them.
Here is my problem. There is moderate oil consumption and durring decelleration smoke comes out the exhaust. What can this be? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Aloha,
Brandon

You say during decel smoke comes out of the exhaust? Sounds like a valve seal issue (although with a new motor that doesn't make much sense--unless they are damaged for some reason) It doesn' t really sound like an oil ring problem--that would show up under load--but the vacuum in the head/manifold under decel pulls oil through the seals and it gets burned.....thats my opinion..
