I wanted to know if i can just straight up replace my bearings on a d16a6 with 162,000 on it ...WIll it be ok to just replace the bearings and go.. the car runs fine as is... no smoke or anything.. just i want to boost it . and i also here a slight noise from the bottom.. what do you all think .

I'm boosting on my d16a6 with 152,000 miles, no noises like that - yet haha.

You want to take it apart and replace all of the bearings, put it together and boost - not sure why you couldn't go ahead with that...but while it's apart why not have some work done to it so you can boost more?

I can assure you I boost 5 lbs of boost right now and would definetly like to up it another 5 lbs but in fear of hurting the motor ( and having no cash ) I don't / can't. Take your time and build it up so you can boost 10 - 12 , maybe even more if you wanna push it.

replacing the main bearings is pretty easy - you dont have to pull the motor or anything like that. Just make sure you use the same color [bearings] as the ones you pulled out (if you use honda bearings). If you use like ACL you should use plastagauge and make sure they are the right size.

You can also do the same thing with the rod bearings. Its also very simple.
