Default Bosch platinum plugs / headgasket leak

My friend turboed his del sol with a homemade kit and a junkyard motor running the afc hack. It seems like it was running pretty good, alittle rich though. I was doing a compression check on my engine the other day and he came by and wanted to check his. Well his numbers came out to 95-100-95-100 psi. The motor has about 80k on it. ~6,000 miles with the turbo on it. He told me he was using colders plugs but it turns out he was using bosch platinum #2 plugs. I dont know much about these plugs but do u think they could have damaged his engine? I ordered him some ngk brk7's so he'll have them soon.
also, he's got no smoke or anything coming out of the exhaust and we're trying to figure out what these low compression numbers mean. They're all around the same compression, so i was thinking maybe a headgasket leak...

are you sure you cranked it enough times, those seem way to low, the car would be a DOG.. Plus i've never seen all 4 cylinders go bad like that equally

It jumped up to 95 psi after like two spins on one of the cylinders and then wouldn't go up anymore. We definitely did it right and the gauge was working correctly b/c i used it on my car. It definitely feels faster than stock. I'm thinking around a mid 15 sec car. I asked some of the techs at my work and they just said that it wasn't good.

I am still learning so if I am wrong on this theory I want to know... but could his timing be off a few degrees? If the valves werent fully closed on the compression stroke would that lead to those low compression numbers?

I thought that at first but its not smoking at all so i'm leaning more towards the headgasket.

He's building the orginal motor that was in the car but he wanted to know if he should go ahead and try a new headgasket to see if it would fix it. I could tell him to check the valves first. He basically riped this motor out of a junkyard auto car w/70k miles on it and dropped it in. So we dont know the history on it.
