bore stock sleeve and boost to make 300whp
So hopefully Noone busts my ***** too bad. I have a 91 civic hatch, I want to make 300whp with the motor I have for it. 00 integra gsr, jdm model. Its so hard for me to research much because unfortunatly my area is over run with vw and Noone knows Honda haha. I was thinking maybe to bore up to 81.5mm and boost but this is my first project and I want to do it right and take my time. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks Ed

So your advice is Google and 300 is fine... No advice on what turbo setup, what I need to upgrade.. nothing... Awesome.

I want it to be on the street and I'm not Gutting the interior. Not a daily driver but something to take out every once and awhile. Also Honda day slap a set of slicks on and run it once or twice for fun

theres countless GSR on boost threads out there..
Im not trying to bust your *****.. but do some research, come up with a conclusion and then if you have some questions, then post a thread.
Google will pull up too many threads to read and research.
Reading the Forced induction FAQ's is a great start
Illl even post up the link for yaso you dont have to search

Re: bore stock sleeve and boost to make 300whp
so are you wanting a setup with good response as far as boost threshold and such?
a 50 trim would be good for your goals, cheap, reliable and proven.. plus you can pick them up used for a good price...
if you wanted something even more responsive you could pick up a gt28rs (disco potato) and have an amazing responsive car that made gobs of torque and was a blast to drive on the street.
somewhere in the massive amount of threads is a thread by jeff evans who built a gt28rs powered civic with a gsr motor.... made 350whp and in the videos it looked like it was stupid fun to drive

Re: bore stock sleeve and boost to make 300whp
although you might be at the limits of stock internals for 300... let your tuner decide what's best but for added safety, durability and reliability i would do pistons and rods as well... a good mls gasket (stock works perfectly) and arp headstuds are a must.
walbro 255, 550cc injectors, a decent fuel pressure regulator (adjust-ability is nice to have) i'd also look into possibly picking up a skunk2 intake manifold and a larger throttle body (skunk2 has a nice affordable 70mm unit called the alpha), as well as phenolic gaskets for the intake manifold and throttle body.
I would also recommend a catch can setup. All of those bolt on parts will give you a better powerband and more power at lower boost levels... while the 550cc injectors will accommodate your power goals, you won't have much room to grow, so if you think you'll ever want more power something like 750s might be a better start.
also stock bore is fine.. there's no real reason to overbore unless you've damaged a cylinder wall. you stock cams are fine for your goals, hell people run gsr cams and make 800hp lol.
A good engine management system such as an s300, crome, neptune rtp, aem ems, etc is also needed. if your ecu is the jdm ecu it wont be able to be chipped due to the face that the jdm ecu's are all surface mount components and cannot be chipped (IIRC)
Also, a good 3" exhaust is an idea.
Go_autoworks makes nice kits that are affordable but you might be able to save some bucks by picking up used parts from the market place
so here's a list of what i would do
used ramhorn or any other quality manifold
3" downpipe
tial 38mm wastegate
3" exhaust
t3/t04e 50 trim or maybe something like a gt28rs
decent 2.5" intercooler piping
a quality intercooler (ebay intercoolers are ehhhh... treadstone makes a nice intercooler thats affordable, so do precision, pwr and garrett but they are much more costly than treadstone)
quality bov, hks ssqv leak.. I've personally used a greddy type-s, turbonetics raptor, gfb sv45, prof sheepdog, tbo, etc and I like them
engine management (chipped ecu with an s300, or crome, neptune, etc)
walbro 255
550 or 750 injectors
some sort of adjustable fpr
gm 3 bar, or omni 3 bar, since the stock maf won't read above 10-11 psi
skunk2 intake manifold
bigger throttle body such as the skunk2 70mm alpha, omni also makes a decent unit but i've found the skunk2 alpha to be very cost effective
a better clutch (i prefer competition clutch)
i might of left some stuff out but you get the basics

Re: bore stock sleeve and boost to make 300whp
I have a skunk2 proseries intake manifold. Would cp pistons be a good choice? I found threads on here saying eagle rods.. also, I do be the jdm ecu. So I should sell that and get a p28 from what i read.? What I don't understand is I though p28 is for like a z6. I'm having my car tuned through xenocron in hillburn,ny

Ideas for your setup here: https://honda-tech.com/forums/forced-induction-16/%2A%2Aofficial-boosted-ef-thread%2A%2A-1771468/
I'd stick to the 81mm bore unless the cylinder walls are damaged.

Re: bore stock sleeve and boost to make 300whp
My apologies. Let me also state that this is my first Honda. My last project was a 95 gst. Ran 310whp. I bought it not knowing anything about it. I just thought itd be neat to toy with bc two of my friends had them before and had all the spare parts left over and gave to me. I'm still new and learning the Honda. Atleast I'm asking questions whether they are stupid or not. I appreciate all your help. Thanks
