Default Boosted GSR Head gasket

It seems My head may be warped on my engine. I've got a friend who has a spare GSR head he'll sell me. Works for me. But he suggested that I get an after market head gasket that was thicker than stock to drop the compression a bit.

Whats a good brand or what should I look for. Running about 7psi on a stock GSR (untuned)

There isnt really a reason to drop compression for 7pis IMO. The best HG you can run is pretty much the OEM multilayer copper with some spray.

cometic is the only brand I'll use these days.
they make a lower compression gasket for ya'.. however, as mentioned above, you shouldnt really need one at 7psi.. but if you plan to run a bit more boost, its a good idea to run one to give yuou some extra margin of error for your tune...

Y not just pull the head, take to machine shop and pay them $50 to check if its flat and if not, make it flat?

I'm going to have the head checked before I spend the money on the new head. But I was told if I have it shaved to make it flat again, that it will up the compression and that isn't what I want for a Turbo engine. Plus I really don't have the money for a valve/head job. I will probably get the new head cheaper from my friend. But I'm unsure of the price of a valve job. Right now I'm just hoping Its a blown gasket. My Radiator cap took a crap and blew all of the coolant out of my engine. it was seeping so slow I didn't notice it untill I was far away from civilization with no phone service. I drove it untill the Check Engine light came on then shut it off.
