Boosted the DA today, 56k grab some lube
Well I finally got around to getting my DA turbo'd. I'd run into some electrical problems with my EF with D16a6-T @ 11psi (turned me out indeed), and decided to strip it and sell the parts.
Before: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1253725
After: On its way off with its new Mexican owner minus suspension/powertrain/random interior panels, and driver seat
So on to my new project, 90 Integra LS 127k as i was told when i bought it, later confirmed through carfax to be over 210k, damn shady Asian car dealers:
I had more background to give, but noone really cares, and i'm sick of typing so just ask me questions and I'll answer lol. Enjoy:
2.5" Downpipe with 2.5" cutout, cut and flux welded by yours truly:
Volvo 740 intercooler that I cut down to about 8" tall, put metal plates on, and laid gangsta loads of JB weld on, holds 6psi good and costed about 35 bucks including materials so I cant complain:
Intercooler mounted, fits nicely where the ac condensor was, had to hack up the frame a bit, cus sacrificing structural integrity for the sake of a better fitting FMIC is what's hot on tha streetz.
1st gen DSM bov, flange welded to the 2.5" ic piping but i was scared it would leak so i JB'd that byitch.
EG half radiator (fits great in DA with no hood modifications) Log manifold custom made by 90Blackcrx of RCAutoworks, turbo is Precision SC50 50 trim with .48/ar turbine side, Wastegate is the XSpower 83 dollar special with 5.63psi spring, i heard XSpower makes some of the flamest turbo **** money can buy!!!:
Downpipe clears really well, came out better than i thought seeing as how all my cutting was done with an angle grinder and i've only been welding for like 3 weeks or so :
Naked shot:
And with the bumper on and hood closed, looks like this:
Overall came out really well and it pulls nice, but the stock clutch hate life, so thats gotta come out soon. I'd like to thank Bob @ RCAutoworks for hookin it up on the mani, Steve @ Stealthmode Performance for helpin brotha out with the oil fittings, Racing-Solutions for that good *** deal on charge piping kit, had enuff for my ic piping and downpipe, and Harbor Freight for making cheap ****.

Glad I don't have to fix any more of the ssautochrome problems. Everything looks good, your other manifold will be done soon

Haha yea, the setup itself other than the intercooler is built to last, the engine's iffy though, cus its true mileage is really unknown to me.

Psht, no zipties necessary this time, there's actually real weld under the jb weld this time lol. I just didnt trust any of it to not leak so i did that for insurance.

Somehow i managed to do this one really cheap. Its put together better than the kit on my civic was, with less ghetto rigging, and the grand total came out to about 750 on this car, and was around 950 initially on the civic. What makes that so awesome is that the turbo costed me 350 alone (thanks mike), brand new custom fabbed manifold of really good quality for 150 (cheapest deal around from RCautoworks), brand new wastgate for 85, all new piping for 65. I caught some pretty good deals on everything though, and with me doing all of the fab myself i saved a bunch of money.

Yea i'm reeally loving how hidden it is, i'll probably relocate my plate for a lil better airflow, but for now its fine. I was lookin at it earlier and the only reason i can kinda see it is because i know its there. Still holding up well on day 2

Car is currently running on a basemap from Xenocron's site, its for a SC61 and is tuned to 13psi, so i figured it would be a rich on my setup, but its actually fine, no gas smell no detectable detonation lol, works for me.

Re: (y7turbo)
Haha, umm i wanna go tommorow, but i dont know how likely that is, i think we may go next week though. Soon as i can get out there pretty much. Tuning is critical, i gotta get me some of that.
