You know when you did your class did they teach you about MBT ? If so how did they recommend finding it with software like Hondata, Ectune, Crome, ect when you can't hit a cell smack bang in the middle.

Lol that was actually the hardest part for me while I was tuning, keeping the throttle completely in the middle of the cell without moving it slightly while trying to find mbt while doing the ignition. It wasnt ecu specific really and we really didnt go over much of hondata, ectune, and crome. I was mainly using the Motec and it seemed very nice and made it a little easier to see exactly where you are on the cell, in addition to it showing which cell your on in the table like hondata and everyone else does, it had a white square with a smaller black square that was like a level and you could watch and see exactly where and how perfectly in the middle of the cell you are(if you can understand what im trying to explain)

But I dont believe you have to be exactly perfectly centered in the middle of the cell to achieve it, as long as your in the cell and keep the throttle completely constant while adjusting that one cell you will be good, im sure you know how hard it keeping the throttle in one spot of the cell while trying to find mbt. Like I said though that Motec did make it easier.

I have a lot to read up on too, I if ever get to do a project. I am gonna have to street tune my car, because there are no shops even close to me who dyno tune. Closest is like 4 hours away. I dont think I will go very high HP though I think maybe 300 ish Will be doable. What are the names of some good books to read?

4 hours away isn't much in the grand scheme of things for a turbo car for 300whp. it can be done.

Check here with the FAQs at the top of the forum first. That's better than any book out there.

Myself and tons of other great guys here made sure that you can have every question answered on it. start from the beginning and let us know from a new thread about other questions.

Hondad6, the book "How to tune and modify engine management systems" by Jeff Hartman would be a good start. Also read as much as you can on the internet, pgmfi.com is a great website to read up on

Thanks I will get the book next time I'm at the book store or amazon. Yeah I will probably try to tune it myself at low boost, without the major danger of detonation. I will also definatley read all of the stuff on the facts board as well. Thanks for the help and future help I'm sure. That turbo looks good so shiny.

I wonder what cartridge and turbine housing that is.. The exhaust wheel looks like a Turbonetics F1 design.. Interesting. It's not e-bay, but its not a Garrett either.

Forgive me if I missed it. But my computer isn't the fastest so I didn't read every page. Since you're already spending all that money why not sleeved the block. Been driving my turbo b16 stock for awhile now haven't had any problems yet. Although it does feel slow now.

Because I don't have the money to. I should've in the first place but didn't and ordered pistons and had the machine work done. So if I were to get sleeves if have to start over again. It will get sleeved the next time the motor gets torn apart

So change if plans (like always) turbo didnt turn out to be exactly what I thought it was so im sending it back today. As for what ill be getting, Ive been talking to Mac about the Wolverine well see what happens

What was the problem ? You'll be happy with what you get off Mac anyway. Make sure you get it coated to. The coating they use is bad ***.
