I want to know about the Turbocharger Mac is designing for the B16a. It maybe a future option for me as i'm not chasing such high figures anymore and would prefer the mid range torque and response.

I believe Rich is talking about the TR3030R. Mac is actually working on the new design and it should be available around Fall time.

It's not strictly that i want less power, it's more that I'd like to trade some top end for response and mid-range. I need to see how i get on with the surfer first though. It just maybe be a future option..

Nah, its not that unit. It's definitely a GT30(followed by two other digits).

Sure.. Wheel specifications are always good. The turbine wheel will be more important than even the GT35R compressor wheel you have.

It has a 67.56mm turbine wheel and compressor wheel is 81.93mm

Exducer = 82mm is for the GT3582R compressor wheel.
67.56 Inducer is really a 65mm inducer at the top edge = similar to the exhaust wheel in a Precision XX62.

Not bad for the power level if you're looking for 500-600whp.

Can someone please tell me that has had experience with it, when you paint the engine and trans and you get an oil leak does it mess up/destroy the paint and make it look ugly? Also what are you cleaning your painted motors with after its in the car?water? I know I cant use brake cleaner like I usually do if I end up painting it

There are several options.

-Simple Green/ soak / power wash
-Castrol Supertech Purple degreaser / soak / power wash
-Certain orange-clean / power wash.

Don't use the big industrial stuff, it will strip the paint faster than any brake cleaner.

i painted mine with caliper paint after i got it all clean with some 409....its in my thread near the bottom of this section

So if oil gets on it, it wont eat the paint right away right as long as I keep it clean when I get an oil leak?

Thanks but im not really asking how to prep it to paint it im saying after its painted is there problems if oil gets on it

Lol reading your posts makes me wanna build a single turbo vh45 for my 240z lol just sayin, also makes me want an ek lol, that turbo looks sick. I don't have any experience with painted motors but I'm sure a little oil won't hurt it I'm sure if your paint is nice and glossy itll come off easy. I'm sure gas will mess it up more and so will diesel. But I doubt oil will

No. But make sure you don't have oil leaks and that won't be a problem.

Can someone please tell me the tap size I need for the main bolts? Id like to use it before I install everything to make sure the threads are cleaned
