Boost is spiking 3psi higher than normal...I didn't touch anything!
Hey BC here once again asking the FI forum for guidance. Over the last few days i've seen my boost levels going to an "uncomfortable" level. Usually the car will peak at .44 bar (a little over 6 psi) and hold about .40 bar. Over the last few days i've seen the boost spiking to .55-.60 bar and then holding in the .44-.48 range. I haven't touched a single thing on the car, and the weather has been relatively hot (80-85 degrees ambient temperature). Any suggestions/ideas?
Essentials:
-D15B7 w/ Z6 Head
-Internally Gated Greddy TD04H-15G turbo
-No manual boost controller, boost is regulated through adjustable wastegate actuator arm
-Boost is viewed electronically through MAP Sensor w/ V-AFC (not a mechanical gauge)

weather temps can cuase this. if it cools off in the evenings boost will be higher due to thicker and mroe dense air, especially when it was hot in the day.
not sure if that's your issue, but it's a possibility.

my car did the same thing
my vacuum line to the wastegate melted from being too close to the manifold
check your vac lines for rips/tears/holes

Not at all. The high boost readings are coming during the middle of the day.

Re: (BauleyCivic)
I found the problem. Due to the heat, the wastegate arm nearly welded itself onto the flap for the wastegate...making it hard to push open. This caused the flap to not push open as easy, increasing the boost. I freed it, then reinstalled it, and my boost was back to normal.
Cliffs: If your internally gated turbo is boosting higher than normal, check the arm to make sure it hasn't gotten stuck to the wastegate flap.
