Default Boost drop AT HIGH RPM after exhaust install

I had been runing my car with a 2.5" open DP at 6.5 psi and it would stay put there no problem all through the power band. If i unpluged my vacuum and left it open as a boost relieve line, the one that goes to the wastegate, boost would stay put at 7 psi.

I just installed my exhaust 2.5" all the way but crush bent. I dont have money for mandrel or anything better and i dont live in the US so Kteller isnt an option.

Now my car spools up a bit latter (which i expected), i get the same boost level until like 6500 rpm and then it drops 1 psi. Although i am getting the same boost level all the way up to 6.5k the car pulls much less. I dont get how at the same psi i can be slower , but what really bothers me is that i dont get my boost to stay up all the way to 7.2k where i redline. Is there any way to fix this, anyone had similar isues, or should i just go with an electronic cutout and get done? If so, anyone mind pointing me in the direction of a good one?

TIA Stefano

Setup is a Tdo4 turbo on a custom made log manifold with modded dsm sidemount IC, on a stock DOHC ZC.

The weight of your exhaust is slowing your tin can down Are you running a CAT still? What kind of muffler? Only other thing I could think of is that perhaps theres a really restrictive bend in there...

Yeah, it is posible for the bends to be restrictive, let me take pics and upload them.
The exhaust was there before, it just wasnt "pluged in"
No cat, magnaflow 2.5" straight through from kteller

Apparently you will run leaner with an open down pipe so now you maybe be running a little bit richer then before that would kill power a bit.. Try getting a MBC and turning the boost back up a little.

Here are the pics, from the DP in pic one to just before the muffler in pic 6

I was planning on gettin a MBC anyways, changing the boost level by wastegate is slow . But that still doesnt explain why boost would drop at the end of my powerband

As long as it works.

It probably was the exhaust that caused the pressure drop at high rpm. Chokin dat bad boyeee.

yeah your right. You DO need to get a high flow cat! Its possible that you could have an exhaust leak somewhere also.

if that is the td04 turbo from a wrx, boost would fall bout 6500 rpms.

Pic number 5 the bend looks pretty restrictive or is that just the light? WOuldn't worry about the boost drop its pretty normal, my car has always done it. It will probably be more pronounced when you get a bleed valve.
