Boost creep anyone???
Question, does anyone running the meng/spark manifold have boost creep issues? I did a car a while back with one and originally it was ok, with the 57 trim to4e. Well, after rewelding it a couple times where it cracked and bracing it, all was fine. We installed an sc61 turbo with a stage 5 turbine wheel and a nice 3" downpipe and with an 8lb spring in the 38mm tial wastegate it creeps to 14psi. This same turbo and combination is on another car i did with a full race manifold an it'll hold 9psi on a 9lb spring all day long. Just something to watch for, the design on the meng manifold is terrible as far as the wastegate is concerned. It'll work for small turbos, but when you get an efficient turbine wheel in there it'll creep...bad! There's more to manifold design than how it looks, remember that when everyone is comparing manifolds around here...

DAMNIT!!!!!!!!!!! And I was about to trade my Full race for a Meng manifold too! Damnit was gonna just wire tie th T4 on it too! You've ruined my night now Tony! errrr Maybe boost creep is good, if I run 28psi and it creeps to 36psi I should be over 600whp. YAAAAY! Anyone wanna trade?

what turbo are you running? and would it even make power at that level? haha

Full Race T67 and should make power and is efficient up to 36psi I have been told.

Re: Boost creep anyone??? (25 PSI CRX)
I just got one of those crap OBX type(ssautochrome) manifold for this project i'm working and I had many peeps telling me about the creep problems.
the metal fit inside is horrible and wastegate flange is plumbed the wrong way for exhuast flow..
I ended up having to cap of that WG flange and making a new flange on the other side of the manifold.
I know its probaly still not the best for being efficent with the other flange still being there, but hopefully it will help some
here's where the flange was before
