Boost Controller Question
 

If my car is tuned to run 10PSI and I have a Manual Hallman Pro boost controller so I can still adjust the boost from 7 PSI when I'm driving it all the time and then change it to 10PSI onm track days then when I lower the boost wont the car be running rich? Please explain this to me. Thanks

Alright did alittle research and learned that it is all in the tuning? So you have to tune your car to set itself up for that psi? is this correct?

if it is tuned for x boost on the high side, and you run y boost daily on the low side, unless you have a self learning feature, then yes it will run a little rich. unless you have a map selector, or like swapping chips.

From what my tuner says, You are tuned for every single psi up to your highest psi. Your map responds to however much boost you are running. If it's tuned for 10 psi then it is already tuned for 7psi as well.

that makes sense, i had a brain fart on running more than 28 psi on a 3 bar. sorry.

Thanks a lot. So I guess my tuner will take care of that for me. Also been trying to figure out weather I want to go electric or manual. I want to be able to adjust boost from inside my car. ANd I hear electric is better so I'm thinking of going to a EBC. However I know a lot of guys are running Turbo xs dual so I can run my daily psi 7 then with a flip of a switch run 10 for when I'm at the track. Do you guys think I'm on the right track?

GOOD ebc's are better than mbc's because they take variables into account that mbc's aren't capable of and have alot more features. If you can afford it go for an EBC. Although MBC's are good, don't get me wrong. They may have a tendency to spike a little bit but not necessarily. The TurboXS is ok, but I've heard Halman and TurboSmart seem to work better.

I was looking at the Hallman pro and with the hardware to adjust it from inside the car the price is $275 and thats for a MBC. Then I looked at the greddy type-s and the price is $309 and its an EBC. So it has a lot mroe features so for the price I'm probably better off going with that. I also hear a lot of good things about the greddy type-s. How they are simple, reliable, and easy to set up.

find a nice AVCR used or other EBC that has gear based boost.

I have an AVCR and I start at 10psi, 1st gear, and it goes up from there, each gear.
