Default Bolting Turbo Directly to Exhaust Manifold?

I trust you Ricky, I just want to see how many others are doing it this way

Questions:
1.) How many of you are bolting your turbo directly to the exhaust manifold.... WITHOUT using that rectangular exhaust gasket in between the two?
2.) If you are, are you using any kind of gasket paste type of product?
3.) If so, what are you using? haha

Run the turbo flange and the manifold flange on the side of the chopsaw for that ghetto mill action, then cut a gasket out of an old pepsi can. Booya!!!

Did you mill your turbo's flange? Or just bolt away and call it a day?

I can't remember, but isn't that copper rtv not rated at taking the high temps when acutally touching the turbo?

haha that could work; however, I try to keep the ghetto-ness away from my car. I like spending the little bit extra and doin' 'er right

Thanks for the quick reponses guys! I'd still love to hear more opinions (obviously)

"doin er right" as you call it, would mean using a gasket

I tried using a metal gasket and it leaked. Removed it and added copper spray and still leaked. Removed it again and found out the copper spray had disintegrated. Reinistalled with no gasket and it doesn't leak one bit.

i am running a gasket and have reused it once with no leaks. my turbo was brand new when installed, but i am using a used revhard mani, didnt mill it or anything. it seems with some of the good quality manis and turbos of today gaskets may not be necessary. ive never used one on my dp and it doesnt leak either.

Mani's like lovefab, full race, hytech, BMC, BLOX etc DO NOT need a gasket, any manifold as long as the surfaces are truly flat.

OEM turbo cars usually use cast parts which have a lot of imperfections (not completly flat) so they use a gasket that can crush and make up for the imperfect surfaces.

True, but I would think having both milled flush would be a little more pimpin' haha.

hmmm I have a gasket on there right now, but I might try the no gasket/no sealant approach. Thanks again for all the input guys
