Default Blox Cast Manifold users. I have a question.

I have my car 99% together and ready to start and drive. One thing I noticed is that my manifold places my turbo inlet directly up against the slave cylinder on the transmission. There is no room to put a filter on the turbo inlet or to put a coupler on there and run a pipe somewhere to put a filter on that. Has anyone else ever run into this problem? If so is there a way to get some clearance? I'm being told to just run a screen but I don't really feel comfortable doing that since I'll drive this car everyday.

If I can make a 4" intake/filter fit between the radiator/fan on a GT3076R on a AC ramhorn manifold then you can get a filter on it. Posting pics of your setup would be helpful (if you already did my bad can't see much at work...).

I am running a blox with precision sc34 and a k&n clamped to the turbo.

I remember having to bend the hard line a little and it still doesn't go all the way on as the filter body conacts the slave before its all the way on. But its on past the lip on the turbo and with the clamp good and tight it has never moved.

I have always planned to relocate the filter to a cooler location using some 3" pipe as it is kind of smushed between the block and fan. Never have got to it. Anyway if I can get a whole filter in there with a full rad and dual fans surely you can work in a coupler and 3" pipe.

you might try snipping a small portion of the coupler to get it to slide onto the turbo. i had a similar setup and i just used a dremel and grinded the coupler down real thin and snipped a lil bit just in the area where the coupler seems to not wanna go in. once you got that part on then your golden. just add a couple of 45 degree pipes and a filter and youre all fixed up!

I need to snap a photo of this but I get the jist of what you guys are saying. In my case the inlet of the turbo is literally touching the slave cylinder on the transmission. The only thing I can think to do is to loosen the manifold, slide a coupler and a clamp on and then tighten the manifold back up so the clamp rests on the slave cylinder. Then put the pipe on the other side of the coupler and add the filter to it. Don't know if that will work or not though. Anyone know if I can grind some of the material off the slave cylinder?

I'll try and get a picture up tonight...

I had to shave the block to get the turbo to fit where it is and I want my AC since I will be driving this car pretty much everyday so mounting the turbo the other direction isn't an option.

you could try putting another exhaust flange between the manifold and head.. just use gaskets between each and you'll be good.

also you could always just use an inlet screen instead of a full filter.
