does this look like it could be a blown turbo oil seal? Lots of smoke.

Black smoke- extra fuel
Blue smoke- oil
White smoke- coolant

Can't tell from the color in your video. Which is it?

Typically you'll see signs of a failing turbine side oil seal on decel. When oil pressure first drops a small amount of oil will seep p past the seal and burn off.

If it smokes constantly the seal has already failed.

We need a better video taken from behind the car to see what color the smoke is.

Just to add to this if blue /oil smoke is coming from the catch can that is due to rings/valve seals and not an oil seal? Since the oil seal for the turbo would make it only come from the exhaust correct?

Bad turbo seals shows through the exhaust only. Correct..... If that catch can situation is what is going on for you then a simple leakdown test would tell the story

My guess would be a cracked piston as soon as vaccume hits its pulling oil into cylinder

Take the oil return line off of the turbo/oil pan and look through it to make sure it is open and not kinked. If you are using E85/Ethanol based fuel, enthanol in the oil can swell the rubber (if it isn't compatable) in the return line and restrict flow.

it's either a turbine side seal failure warning, a return line issue, or a piston problem.

If it was a piston problem, would I notice issues with the way the engine is running, like fumbling or running rough? I have also read on here that the b18 should have a oil restrictor with a pt6262, though the manufacturer says it shouldn't. could a 0.065 restrictor correct the problem? Motor has less than 50 miles on it. Tuner pointed out that the drain line was incorrect, I have since fixed the drain but is still smoking. Not as much as it was, but still smoking...

Not having a restrictor may have caused the seal issue... If so the damage may cause a new seal replacement and restrictor at the same time.. But in your case its blowing by the turbine(if that's the problem) so a restrictor may fix the issue, so yes its a possibility

Also, what's your vacuum at idle?

They're cheap and vacuum can tell u a few things about motor health. Ring seat.. Fluctuations indicate issues. Many different symptoms show through vacuum

I haven't gotten the vacuum gauge yet but I'm pretty sure it's the seal... i took the downpipe off and you can see oil on the bottom of the inside of the turbo...

That could be valve stem seals, turbine oil seal, or both. Either way you don't need the gauge now.

The gauge isnt necessary for this situation now but for the price, the gauge is worth having. Certainly can't hurt for future reference.
