blown headgasket ? ouch !!!
anwaysy i was helpin a friend of mine set up his 89 civic si hatch beater/project car up with a DIY turbo kit heres the following list
the car has a D16a6, with 160Kmiles .. my dad checked the car n said the car was somewhat leaky ( headgasket) but he wanted to turbo it and see how it went anwyays
SO anwaysy ..
Td04-14B turbo, HF manifold, plate
SS braided oil lines, coolant lines etcc
charge pipe, DSM 1st gen BOV, 450CC injectors, file to fits chip to idle 450s
AEM cam gear, set @ retard 2 degrees
2.5 inch mandrel bent downpipe, 3 inch mandrel bent exhaust
i finished welding everything and routing the charge pipes and we took it out for a spin, 1st time .. WOOHOO!! 2nd time WOOHOO .. 3rd time .. WOOHOO .. 4th WOOO. uhhhhhhhhhh .......... i pulled in the driveway and it was smokin white whcih leads me to believe its the head gasket. anwaysy i pop the hood and i told him to crack the motor and it was oily on the throttle body so i checked the oil pressure gauge and the oil feed line, etcc nothin .. coolant lines nothin .. felt the liquid .. Err its oil .. had him crank it and it was spittin out hte valve cover breather hole . SO .. verdict= blown headgasket ? or blown rings ? what do yo uguys think .. im HOPING its jsut a blown headgasket but you guys probably have more experience with this kinda stuff .. FEED BACK PLEASE !!!
BTW- rollin start 1st to 2nd and partial 3rd = no traction !! 10psi O i know .. too much boost but ehheh it was fun ..

sleeve cracked
think about it...white smoke is usually coolant being burned....if it were ONLY cracked ringlands u wouldn't be burning coolant..only oil, so u would see blue smoke, not white..also, since ur seeing smoke come out the filter breather leads me to believe it could actually be a cracked sleeve...if not, my next guess would be a blown headgasket...
