blowing puffs of smoke when shifting...
whenever im really getting on it and shifting hard i notice big puffs of smoke come out. i dont think it is oil. could it be fuel? i have the greddy z6 kit and im actually running 1 psi more than the stock 5.5 so could it still be rich? i havent messed with emanage yet so are the maps that come on there for the z6 kit just set to run rich?? thats what ive heard. its not coolant because its a blackish greyish color. its not oil because the following are brand new...
head gasket
intake gasket
exhaust gasket
dizzy o ring
valve stem seals
camshaft seal
rear main seal
oil pump seals
oil pan gasket
piston/oil rings
its always done it since ive installed the kit brand new so its not bad turbo seals.

you need a wideband to tell if your running rich or not....i had a similar problem and it was the valve seals that caused it

well its the stock emanage that comes with the kit so if anyone that has it knows anything about it....
not the valve seals for me. EVERY seal, gasket, whatever has been replaced on this engine. like brand new. it only has 40k miles on it.
and wish i could get a wideband but since they are so damn expensive i have a feeling i wont see one until next year.

black is usually fuel. look at all the cars in japan. they all backfire and shoot out black smoke. it just helps with detonation, but u lose some power. i guess they dont like to put holes in places that dont belong
