Default Block Repaire question. Deal on cheap Gsr block but needs work, got some qustions

Can get a Hydrolocked gsr block cheap.. but.. Block has a penny size whole about half an inch from the bottom of the block where it bolts to the oil pan. The motor will be resleeved for boost but just wondering if that could be fixed

I am pretty confident it can be fixed, how much though, not sure. You got a picture of the damage?

if the rod or whatever broke didnt take out the oil passage or water passage it would be able to be sleeved

i have sent blocks out before that looked like they coulda been sleeved but than they couldnt...

you need to inspect very closely foir hairline cracks that could pose a problem.

Just curious, how would you go about doing that?

the cyl aren't messed up just a little scuffing because the motor was spinning at very low rpms, but there is a small whole at the base of the block but not in a cyl wall

could that be filled in with a tig welder? anyone? I know i did that for my tranny, the bolt locations on the top mount were broke off from an accident, just built it up with tig weld, then drilled and tapped it. Would that work for this non-vital (i assume) area of the block?
