Default Block Guards, Head Gaskets? Greddy Turbo in D16z6

I will most likely be getting a Sohc Vtec motor and when I save enough money I want to buy the Greddy Turbo Kit for the d16z6. I was looking at making it pretty safe to run daily at abnout 8-10 psi and the lower priced alternatives seemed to be the Block Guard and A Thicker Headgasket. Would these items be sifficient for what i want to do, or would I need to go ahead and get rods and pistons?

I don't think you'll need anything but a bit of tuning to safely run 10 lbs on a Greddy kit.

But lets just say, as insurance, I put about 300-500 bucks into the motor buying those parts. Would it be worth not having to get another motor and swap it in.
