Block guard, yes or no??

I have a turbo gsr im in the process of building. Going to be forged bottom end and im debating on using a block guard with it. Any problems, personal experience. Only shooting for around 350ish whp. Thanks

Put the money towards a good tune instead, even at ~350WHP, people have done that on stock internals.....Tune is key

Hell NO on the block gaurd, causes way more problems than it attepmts to help with....350 whp on stock sleeves is well under what stock sleeves can handle....

That is the closest thing to a "blockgaurd" I would ever use!

My bad, i used the search on HT instead of google and didnt come up with anything earlier. Been looking thru the threads and have made up my mind that im not going to use one.

He didnt even say what motor, last time I was active on these forums the consensus was b20 sleeves were shit, Do people still feel the same?

Re: Block guard, yes or no??

b20 sleeves will handle 350-400 but there is very little material between the cylinders which is the failing point.

No block guard, all it will really do is create a hot spot in the cylinders and with the cheap ones restrict coolant flow. I know of several stock internal gsr motors that made over 350whp. I personaly would run stock internals and save for sleeves. But just my .02

I already said its a gsr, and the motor is already completely disassembled and im not gonna waste my time putting cast pistons back in it. Plus i already oreder most of the parts
