Block gaurd and thick head gasket on a turbo b16

i just installed a thick head gasket,and a block gaurd on my 91 b16, when my car starts up it smokes allot an till i get on boost and blow it out what is causing this

Installed blockguard incorrectly?

I have heard from numerous peoples that you NEED to hone your cylinders after a blockguard because it can push your cylinders out of round.

Of course the right way to install a blockguard includes deck surfacing and honing after the block guard has been installed. However, as the owner of an "incorrectly" installed block guard, I have not run into any problems because of it. Bump to see if anyone has damaged the shape of their cylinders as a direct result of an improper block guard installation.
